Responsibilities:
As an experienced registered nurse, most of your responsibilities will be familiar to you – think vital signs, triage, treating illnesses, administering meds, advising how to lead a safe, healthy lifestyle – as well as administrative tasks like collecting data, completing workers’ compensation forms and insuring that all OSHA rules are scrupulously followed. You will make sure the highest standards of quality and confidentiality are met at all times, and will be as precise with your documentation as you are with your hands-on patient work.
While you will work a minimum of one weekend day per week, and you may be scheduled on holidays, you will never have to work a “graveyard” shift, and you will have two consistent days off per week so you can plan your life.
Every day as an Occupational Registered Nurse is different. On any given day, you might: Assess Cast Members who present with illness or injury, make a determination of occupational vs. non-occupational mechanism, and perform necessary treatment, per your license. Perform regulatory-required medical surveillance exams, as indicated by current OHSA standards. Administer travel immunizations, per physician orders. Uphold The Walt Disney Company’s standards of business conduct. Document and maintain accurate, detailed records related to the treatment of Cast Members in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA). Interact with Worker’s Compensation, Safety and Disney physicians/outside providers to facilitate treatment and process work-related illnesses or injuries.
Qualifications
Here is what you will need to be successful in the job:
- Minimum. 3+ years Registered Nurse Experience
- Active Florida RN license
- Active CPR Certification
- Active Florida Drivers License
- Flexibility to work on holidays as well as occasional overtime
- Knowledge of basic computer programs and ability to work with a laptop/desktop
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of OSHA and Worker’s Compensation regulations, record keeping and procedures
Consistent days off are offered however this position requires you work a minimum of one weekend day EVERY week.
Additionally, you will need the physical stamina to stand for long periods of time to walk, lift, squat, push, pull and/or carry heavy objects, up to 25 lbs. Excellent hearing and ability to see, and full use of hands for patient assessment and to control, handle or feel objects and tools. You will also need sharp time management skills and a deep desire to give the best possible care and patient service.
Preferred Qualifications
It would be helpful if you also had:
- Experience working in a fast-paced hospital, clinic, or similar environment
- Deep knowledge of EMR or Health Management System
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Occupational Health Nursing experience
Education
- A Bachelor’s Degree is REQUIRED
- A Florida Driver’s License is REQUIRED
- Master’s Degree and/or Certified Occupational Health Nurse (XOHN/COHN-S) is preferred
