HCA Florida Healthcare, an affiliate of HCA Healthcare, has announced that its 14 home health agencies across the state have officially been renamed to HCA Florida Healthcare at Home.
Last July, HCA Healthcare announced a joint venture with Brookdale Senior Living. This joint venture expands post-acute care services — specifically, home health — across the HCA Florida Healthcare network with a goal of improving quality and patient experience, as well as expanding access to care.
The new name better reflects connection to a leading collaborative healthcare network in the state, united through a shared dedication to improve more lives in more ways. HCA Florida Healthcare includes roughly 570 sites of care across Florida, including hospitals, physician practices, freestanding emergency rooms and urgent care centers. In addition to home health services, over the past year HCA Florida Healthcare has expanded its continuum of care through the acquisition of MD Now urgent care, the opening of HCA Florida University Hospital and the announcement of plans for three new hospitals to better meet Floridians’ healthcare needs no matter where they are in the state.
HCA Florida Healthcare at Home plays a critical role in the recovery phase of a patient’s journey as they leave the hospital setting. This offering is a seamless continuation of care as patients move out of the hospital and into a new setting to recover. The communication between hospital and home care teams results in a more connected care experience.
“We are dedicated to ensuring our patients and their families have the care and support they need during each stage of life,” said Colleen Layton, Regional Vice President of Operations, Home Health at HCA Healthcare. “We believe HCA Florida Healthcare at Home will more effectively meet consumers where they are in their healthcare journey and build confidence and trust with them.”
