The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a voluntary recall for some powdered formulas based on concerns about possible bacterial contamination in a key manufacturing plant. On top of prior supply chain and staffing issues created by the pandemic, this has led to a nationwide shortage of baby formula. This is impacting many families needing formula to feed their infants and medically complex children.
Nemours Children’s Health experts discuss what parents can do and what they should not do during this baby formula shortage.
