Now that schools in Orange, Osceola and Volusia counties are joining Brevard County in requiring heart screenings (EKGs) for high school student athletes who plan to play sports in the upcoming athletic year, Nemours Children’s Health System is making the 20-minute exam available for $20 throughout Central Florida.
Screening EKGs are a brief, noninvasive, painless way to detect many heart conditions. Undetected heart issues can put athletes at risk of sudden cardiac arrest. The screening takes just 20 minutes and costs $20. Results are available in 24 hours in the Nemours app.
Appointments are available by calling (407) 567-6780.
