Orlando Health has selected new presidents for Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies and South Seminole Hospital.

Cary D'Ortona is now president of Arnold Palmer Hospital. He joined the hospital team in 2004 as a financial manager and served as corporate director of internal audit before being named chief financial officer of the Arnold Palmer Medical Center in 2009. D'Ortona received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida, where he also earned a Master of Science degree in Accountancy. He also has a Master of Science degree in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis.

Kelly Nierstedt will join the organization as president of Winnie Palmer Hospital on July 9. Her most recent role was with Children's Hospital of Illinois, where she served as president with oversight for obstetrics and maternal fetal medicine services throughout 13 acute care hospitals. Nierstedt began her career as a staff and charge nurse in labor and delivery at Hackensack University Medical Center, and earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Felician College in New Jersey and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

These two positions were created to have a more dedicated focus on pediatrics and women's services, after Kathy Swanson retired as president of both hospitals in January 2018.

Shawn Molsberger will also join the organization on July 9 as president of South Seminole Hospital. His most recent role was with Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, Tennessee, where he served as chief operating officer. Molsberger earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Utica College of Syracuse University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Administration from Belmont University in Nashville.

As hospital presidents, D'Ortona, Nierstedt and Molsberger will also serve as senior vice presidents of Orlando Health. "I am confident that these individuals' leadership achievements, community engagement expertise and diverse healthcare experience will contribute to the future success of our hospitals," said Jamal Hakim, MD, chief operating officer of Orlando Health.
