Central Florida Regional Hospital Joins First Responders
to Teach Life Saving Techniques
.
On Sat., March 31, experts from Central Florida Regional Hospital will join national "Stop the Bleed" efforts as a way to teach people how to save lives during an emergency.
Experts from the Central Florida Regional Hospital Level II Trauma Center and local first responders will be on hand to teach shoppers at Seminole Towne Center how to apply a tourniquet and perform other basic first-aid techniques to stop bleeding.
The "Stop the Bleed" initiative was launched in 2015 by the White House in an effort to equip average Americans to provide assistance in a bleeding emergency. An injured person can die from blood loss within five minutes and since bystanders are first on the scene "Stop the Bleed" training can enable them to provide life-saving measures before medical personnel can respond.
