Full Job Description
QOROS Cardiovascular Care is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a full time opportunity located in Orlando, FL. Compensation is negotiable based on experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Performs diagnostic Cardiac Nuclear Medicine SPECT scans, Cardiac PET scans and cardiac stress lab treadmill functions as required
· Performs all Nuclear Medicine dynamic, static and functional procedures required by specific study protocols
· Administers radiopharmaceuticals to the patients
· Positions patients correctly for optimal imaging results
· Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the patient studies
· Performs all computer acquisitions, processing and documentation as required by procedure
· Performs all quality control on all Nuclear Medicine instrumentation and cameras as outlined by written procedure or manufacturer guidelines
· Orders and administers radiopharmaceuticals including positron emitters for SPECT and PET imaging as required
· Maintains records as outlined by the Florida Department of Health and Radiation Control
· Performs all safety checks as outlined by the Florida Department of Health and Radiation Control
· Adheres to the ALARA radiation safety principles
· Documents patient information in EMR templates accurately
· Handles, disposes and decontaminates radioactive materials, while maintaining records for such under the regulations of the Florida Department of Health and Radiation Control
· Rotates shifts as required
· Maintain knowledge of all procedural changes and equipment updates.
· Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the CFCG policies
· Maintain compliance with the CFCG policies and procedures practice - wide
· Participates in quality improvement studies
· Maintains continuing education as required by Florida State Licensure and National Registries
(ARRT and /or NMTCB)
· Demonstrates good judgement and decision making skills as required: solicits supervisory input as appropriate
· Adheres to patient first standards in communication with all other CFCG staff, visitors and co-workers to ensure quality patient care
· Follows safety protocols and maintains a safe work environment
· Stock department with necessary supplies.
· Keep work areas clean, tidy and clutter free.
· Responsible for meeting the needs of the patients for safety, well-being and comfort during the diagnostic testing and duration at CFCG
· Responsible for patient and family education for the studies being performed
· Participates in ensuring compliance with applicable regulations including but not limited to IAC, OSHA, NRC, EPA, HIPPA, RAM License and the Florida Department of Health
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
· Certified (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) - renewed annually OR (ARRT) (N) American Registry of Radiology Technologists in Nuclear Medicine – renewed biannually
· Florida State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist - renewed biannually
· Maintains minimum of current BLS certification
· Minimum of one year clinical training while in an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
· Cardiac nuclear cardiology experience preferred
