Ocala Health completed another phase of its $56-million expansion project at Ocala Regional Medical Center with the opening of 34 new inpatient beds dedicated to neuro services, 11 new emergency rooms and a new ED lobby and entrance canopy. The facility continues to renovate areas of the pre-existing emergency department.
Ocala Regional Medical Center also announced in April a $31-million expansion project in which 34 inpatient beds dedicated to cardiovascular services will be added (bringing the total bed count to 290).
Last month, Ocala Regional Medical Center also became the first and only Comprehensive Stroke Center in Marion County. By achieving Comprehensive Stroke Center status, Ocala Regional is now providing more advanced stroke treatments than primary stroke centers located in Marion, Lake and Sumter Counties.
The expansion of Ocala Regional Medical Center's emergency department, addition of dedicated neuro beds, and recent biplane has extended the hospital's commitment to providing advanced healthcare services to the community. "We're honored to bring these new services and additional beds to our area so we can provide the care our community needs," says Chad Christianson, Ocala Health CEO. "We continue to invest in advanced capabilities for our facilities so we can provide the highest level of quality care to patients in Marion County and surrounding areas."
