Last weekend, colleagues from HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, Oviedo Medical Center, HCA Physicians in Seminole County, and CareNow Urgent Care Centers partnered with Seminole County Public Schools to host the fourth annual 5K “Walt Walk and Wellness Fair” which took place at Seminole High School. Named in honor of former Seminole County Public School District Superintendent Walt Griffin, this year’s event focused on the theme “Strolling with Serita at the Walt Walk.” Seminole County Public School employees and their families participated in the wellness fair and took part in a variety of interactive exhibits at the Wellness Fair, including the Mega Body hosted by HCA Florida Physicians. The event also featured a mega blow-up heart with cardiac experts giving walk-through tours, a rock climbing wall, a blood mobile and fire trucks.
HCA Florida Healthcare’s two hospitals in Seminole County – HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital and Oviedo Medical Center – along with the HCA physicians in Seminole County and CareNow urgent care centers are sponsoring the event. The event is designed to promote wellness and encourage healthy lifestyles for Seminole County Public Schools employees. HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, Oviedo Medical Center and CareNow Urgent Care will host a variety of interactive exhibits at the Wellness Fair that is open before and after the 5K, including the Mega Body hosted by HCA Florida Physicians.
