Three boards of directors that provide operational oversight to Nicklaus Children’s Health System and its affiliates have newly appointed chairpersons effective this year.

Jay Massirman serves as chair of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, the 309-bed flagship of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. Massirman is CEO and founder of Rivergate Companies, LLC, a real estate investment holding company pursuing active joint venture partners with the goal of delivering outsized returns in varying product types, geographies and market cycles. He is also a co-founder of three operating platforms developing multifamily, single-family for rent, and self-storage properties. Prior to forming Rivergate/Massirman Group in 2007, Massirman was with CBRE, a global real estate service provider for 20 years, where he was a top producer and actively involved in the sale and financing of transactions valued in excess of $10 billion. Massirman has served in various Nicklaus Children’s board leadership roles since 2010, most recently as chair of Children’s Health Ventures.
Jaret L. Davis is the newly appointed chair of Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the health system’s medical group practice. Davis is Co-Managing Shareholder of the Miami office and a member of the global Executive Committee of the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig PA, overseeing approximately 180 attorneys and 200 business staff. His practice focuses on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and large financings. For over a decade, he has led the efforts of the Miami office and played a key role in the firm’s global efforts to be a dominant player in the technology industry with his clients ranging from information technology companies, to life sciences/biotech and healthcare companies. Mr. Davis has held various Nicklaus Children’s board leadership roles since 2009, most recently serving as chair of the hospital board.
Peter Lopez now serves as chair of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm of the health system. Mr. Lopez is Shareholder at Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A., a full-service law firm with offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Tallahassee and Coral Gables. Lopez represents developers and financial institutions in all aspects of commercial real estate, including acquisition, development, sale, construction, leasing and financing. Lopez has worked on many of the high-profile condominium, hotel and retail development projects that have helped to shape the region. He has been listed among The Best Lawyers in America®, from 2013 to 2022. Lopez has served on the foundation board since 2016 and has held key leadership positions, most recently serving as vice chair.
Nicklaus Children’s Health System (NCHS) is the parent organization of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, South Florida’s only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children. The 309-bed nonprofit hospital, known as Miami Children’s Hospital from 1983 through 2014, was founded in 1950 by Variety Clubs International and is renowned for excellence in all aspects of pediatric medicine, with many programs routinely ranked among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report. The health system also includes Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation, the organization's 501c3 fundraising arm; a network of nonprofit outpatient and urgent care centers situated in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin counties; a nonprofit physician practice subsidiary; and an ambulatory surgery center.
