On Friday, June 11, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) finally released the revised reporting requirements for recipients of Provider Relief Fund (PRF) payments. The revised reporting requirements supersede the January 15th reporting requirements. The newly issued June 11, 2021 reporting requirements can be found here.
This announcement includes expanding the amount of time providers will have to report information, aims to reduce burdens on smaller providers, and extends key deadlines for expending PRF payments for recipients who received payments after June 30, 2020. The revised reporting requirements will be applicable to providers who received one or more payments exceeding, in the aggregate, $10,000 during a single Payment Received Period from the PRF General Distributions, Targeted Distributions, and/or Skilled Nursing Facility and Nursing Home Infection Control Distributions. The PRF portal is open, as of July 1, and providers can begin their applicable reporting.
The below new reporting deadlines and use of funds deadlines, are based on receipt date of each of your specific PRF dollars (many received more than one). Providers that did receive one or more payments during a Payment Received Period outlined below are required to report in the Reporting Time Period associated with the date in which they received payments that exceed $10,000 in aggregate.

Some tips for reporting via the portal:
- All data reporting requirements will be by quarter and for all six (6) quarters from Q1 2019 -Q2 2021
- Patient Service Revenue will need to be broken out by payor for each quarter
- Any and all additional Federal and State funds will need to be reported (e.g. PPP, FEMA..)
- Even if there is nothing to report you MUST put a zero (0) or you will not be able to proceed
- You can save your work and resume at another time
HRSA continues to encourage providers to establish their PRF Reporting Portal accounts now by registering here. Registration will also allow providers to receive updates closer to the official opening of the portal for their reporting submissions.
