Osceola Neurology Care Specialists, an affiliate of Osceola Regional Medical Center and the HCA Healthcare North Florida Division – Orlando Market, recently welcomed two neurologists to its staff. Afra Janarious, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty training in neuromuscular medicine. Abhishek Lunagariya, M.D., is a stroke expert with dual training and board certification in neurology and vascular neurology.
“I am excited to join the team at Osceola Neurology Care Specialists,” said Dr. Janarious. “Seeking medical diagnosis and treatment for conditions related to nerves and the nervous system is a priority that should never be put off. In addition to in-office visits, I will be leveraging telehealth technology to help provide peace of mind and meet patients’ needs from the comfort of their own homes.”
Dr. Janarious’ areas of clinical interest include inherited and acquired muscle disease, myasthenia gravis (MG), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). She studied medicine at the University of Miami and trained in neurology and neuromuscular medicine at the University of California Irvine. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
“I firmly believe that having a managed neurological condition does not mean you must sacrifice a good quality of life,” said Dr. Lunagariya. “As a new member of the Osceola Care Specialists team, I look forward to using the latest in medical evidence to formulate individualized care plans for every patient.”
Dr. Lunagariya is Associate Director of Neurology at the UCF/HCA Consortium. He previously served as neurologist and core faculty at Creighton University School of Medicine, where he played an instrumental role in the development and expansion of the University’s stroke center. He received neurology training at the University of Florida and was selected for vascular neurology training at the University of California - San Diego. He received a master’s degree in healthcare administration from The University of Texas Health Science Center.
