For the first time, The Leapfrog Group has named Osceola Regional Medical Center to its annual Top Hospitals list in the Urban Hospitals category. This recognition showcases Osceola Regional's commitment to providing safe, high-quality healthcare. Osceola Regional is one of only three hospitals in Florida, and the only hospital in Osceola and Orange counties, to receive the award. In November, the hospital earned its fifth 'A' in The Leapfrog Group's Hospital Safety Score.

The selection is based on the results of The Leapfrog Group's annual hospital survey, which measures performance on patient safety and quality, focusing on three critical areas of care: how patients fare, resource use and management structures established to prevent errors. Performance across many areas of care is considered in establishing the award qualifications, including survival rates for high-risk procedures and ability to prevent medication errors.
