LIFT Orlando is pleased to announce that Daryl Tol, president and CEO of Florida Hospital and the Central Florida region of Adventist Health System, is joining its board of directors.

"Florida Hospital has been an important supporter of LIFT Orlando's efforts from the very beginning," said LIFT Orlando Executive Director Eddy Moratin. "We look forward to having Daryl on our board as we continue our mission in the years to come."

LIFT Orlando is a nonprofit organization comprised of business leaders partnering with residents to accelerate community transformation. It was founded in 2012 by local business leaders with a desire to bring positive change to the historic neighborhoods around the former Citrus Bowl, now known as Camping World Stadium.

Leadership includes Tom Sittema, CEO of CNL Financial Group, and executives from Florida Citrus Sports; Orlando Health; Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed; Valley National Bank; Bags, Inc.; and more. LIFT Orlando's goal is to break the cycle of poverty through neighborhood revitalization.

"LIFT's mission aligns perfectly with Florida Hospital's emphasis on whole-person health," Tol said. "I am excited about working with Tom, Eddy and LIFT Orlando to revitalize the Communities of West Lakes, and we are committed to making Central Florida healthier -- body, mind and spirit."

Tol, who was promoted to president and CEO of Florida Hospital in 2015, previously led Florida Hospital's operations in Volusia and Flagler counties. Tol succeeded Lars Houmann, who now serves as chief operating officer of Adventist Health System.
