Florida Hospital, Adventist Care Centers and Adventist Health System held a special preview for the Celebration community of the new Adventist Care Center skilled nursing facility.

The Adventist Care Center, which is currently under construction near Florida Hospital Celebration Health, will house 120 beds and provide a full range of specialized therapy and rehabilitation services such as respiratory therapy, speech therapy and pain management.

Modern design will allow patients to have a comfortable experience away from the typical institutional setting during their recovery. The two-story, 85,000-square-foot building will come equipped with spaces for small gatherings and flexible dining hours to make patients feel at home.

"This facility adds a new dimension to our network of care, providing better outcomes, healthier patients, and healthier communities than before," said Michelle Givens, president and chief executive officer of Adventist Care Centers.

The care center will employ 150 people, in addition to the 130 construction jobs already created.

The Adventist Care Center will provide patients with a hotel-like inpatient recovery at a lower cost than a hospital stay, mirroring the similar healing environment of the nearby Florida Hospital Celebration Health.

"Our wellness philosophy is based on the eight CREATION Health principles - Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook and Nutrition," said Sandra Johnson, board chairperson of Adventist Care Centers and chief administrative officer of

Adventist Health System. "We've worked hard to incorporate all those elements into the design, ensuring the best possible healing and living environment for all our patients."

The Adventist Care Center will open its doors in April of 2018.
